#IS MAC STUDIO FIX FLUID GOOD FOR DRY SKIN UPGRADE#
I am one that applies her foundation with a sponge, this is an upgrade it use to be my fingers! When I opened the Glass container the foundation had an earthy smell to it, was not overpowering, yet was surprised. I was quite surprised of the size of the product, smaller than I thought. Long-time admirer of MAC products so I was so excited to be selected.

I was lucky enough in the Beautyheaven trial team to test out the M.A.C. I honestly can't find anything to complain about with this foundation and am grateful it came into my life. In fact, it provides a long- wearing perfect coverage throughout the day without any touch ups.īeing busy,I also appreciated that I didn't need to apply several layers to build up a good coverage. I was also pleased that it stayed true to colour and form didn't go oily/shiny, dry or powdery.

It brightened my skin and left it looking youthful, with an even tone and it didn't cake into any lines throughout the day. My skin has some pigmentation and sun spots and often I have darkness under my eyes, and this foundation made them seem to disappear. seamlessly whilst flawlessly concealing all my imperfections. I needn't have worried though as it was so perfectly matched to my skin tone that it looked like it was made entirely for me!

This foundation lasts well especially with a spritz of the MAC Prep & Prime Fix spray (I love the rose one!).įirstly, I'll admit that I was a bit concerned about the colour match technology that was used on the website to identify my skin tone.as I had never used this method of colour selection before. I know, there is always the shops to go and get colour matched but I'm a woman of convenience and more foundation colours in samples would be great! I would love it if the samples for foundations were in more colours next time so I could pick the one that I actually think would suit me so I might even get a hit and feel confident ordering that online. I did use my fingers to apply and I realise that the MAC website recommends using a brush to apply it with which is probably a great idea. I applied it first and then when it mostly dried I blended it a little more especially so because I noticed it would settle into fine lines and by blending it a little more it softened that and released the makeup from the fine lines. I feel like it gives good medium coverage and it has a scent to it which is reminding me of Savlon (the antiseptic cream from the chemist). This formula goes on smoothly and it doesn't take long to 'dry' - it's a liquid formula which dries to a beautiful matte finish. Though it's not my perfect shade (it came as a bonus sample I expect to try out the way the formula feels and so wasn't so much about colour but formula). I am doing a review from a sample 'bottle' which is ever so cute by the way. This often occurred when I wore budget foundations years ago, but I did not expect this to occur with Studio Fix Fluid. The foundation started to wear away on my cheeks after a couple of hours despite there being a primer underneath. Although the foundation creased in the deeper wrinkles, it wasn’t as severe as in my first application. Lastly, I applied the foundation over a moisturiser and a primer. The foundation creased a little but it was not as severe as in my first application. The result was sheer and the foundation didn’t cover my cheeks enough, so I stippled more foundation over this area. I then tried mixing the foundation with a facial oil. The foundation started to look cakey above my lips and around my nose.

The foundation first cracked very noticeably in my smile lines and then it cracked in the other wrinkles. I got the coverage by stippling extra foundation on my cheeks with a flat top buffing brush. The foundation did not build well on my cheeks where there’s some redness (my moisturiser might have been incompatible).

I first applied the foundation over a moisturiser with a blending sponge. I wanted to try the foundation with powder, but I had used up the bottle by trying to make it work with different application methods. The foundation smudged easily when I mixed it with a facial oil, and it did not smudge when I applied it over a primer. I did not use powder over Studio Fix Fluid because of my dry skin. I recommend that people buy a pump with the product because it did not flow out of the bottle easily.

For reference, NC10 is a bit lighter than the Pro Longwear Nourishing Waterproof Foundation in NC12. I bought the foundation to see if I could make it work for my dry and mature skin (I’m fifty-eight). Studio Fix Fluid seems to be popular with people that have oily or combination skin, but MAC says that it is suitable for all skin types.
